In the 17th century, The Copernican Revolution put the Sun at the centre the universe. Previously the Earth had been there. Today there is no centre. How does one scientific theory supplant another? Dr Bengt Autzen (photo) lectures in UCC’s school of society, politics and ethics, and in a talk entitled “Theory Choice and the Copernican Revolution”, he will help to tease out the answers to some of these puzzles.
All welcome. Come and see what Cork Astronomy Club does. Stay for tea and a chat afterwards.
